Flemish Art Cities Channel of mobile storytelling

National TV creates topcontent on mobile devices

Date : 2010-06-16

Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven and Mechelen have their own mobile storytelling routes as of the 25th of May 2010.
Except for Bruges, all other routes are available in English.
The top quality content was made by the national TV network VRT. A mixture of audio and video enchantes the tourists and allows them to experience the magic of these famous art cities by their own mobile device.
Ghent and Mechelen have created one big highlight route of 2 hours, Antwerp and Leuven preferred the formula of 3 shorter themeroutes.

The first 25.000 downloads of these magical routes are for free.
(1) Just log in on StoryNations
(2) click on the button 'channels' and choose the Flemish Art Channel
(3) choose the story or stories you want
(4) choose the format of your own mobile device
(5) download it to your computer (best place 'desktop')
(6) unzip the zipfile (button on the right of your mouse) choose unzip
(7) and transfer 'the unzipped file' from your computer to your own mobile device by wire or bluetooth.
You also receive a map with the location of all points of interest, which you can print and take with you on your trip through the art cities. So you will know at which location you have to start which story.

If you a have an Android-smartphone you can install Navitell ASP on your device. This application will allow you to get automatic storytelling and navigation triggered by satellites.

We strongly (!) advise you to download and install the full content upfront on your device.
Streamingcosts are extremely high in Belgium and by this you prevent both roaming- and streamingcosts. Once in the art cities Navitell ASP will take care of the full experience.

For people who do not have an Android smartphone, you also get audiofiles between the stories telling you where to go and which story to start.
